Academic career and teaching activities

Niccolò Bisagno received his PhD in 2020 from the ICT International Doctoral School of the University of Trento, Italy, for the thesis “On simulating and predicting pedestrian trajectories in a crowd”. In 2019, he was visiting PhD student at the University of Central Florida, Orlando, USA. In 2018, he was visiting PhD student at the Alpen-Adria-Universität, Klagenfurt , Austria. Prior to that, he received his BS and MS degree in Telecomunication Engineering from the University of Trento, Italy, in 2015 and 2016.

His research area focuses on crowd analysis with a focus on pedestrian trajectory prediction and crowd simulation in virtual environments. He is also interested in machine learning and computer vision, with special focus on open set classification and sports analysis applications.
