The number of enrolled students in the Department of Information Engineering and Computer Science is exceptional in comparison to national trends. The following data refers to the five-year period 2008/2013:

  • the percentage of enrolled students in degree courses in Telecommunications Engineering and Information Engineering and Organization has grown by 71% for the DISI and only 10% for other Italian similar degrees;
  • the percentage of enrolled students in degree course in Computer Science the DISI has grown by 58% for the DISI and only by 6% for other Italian similar degrees.

Even in the Master of Science, DISI shows the same contrast to the national figure:

  • the percentage of enrolled students in the DISI is stable while the national trend shows a 34% loss in the Master of Science in Telecommunications Engineering;
  • the percentage of enrolled students in the DISI has increased up to 105%, while the national trend shows a decrease of 23% in the Master of Science in Computer Science;
  • enrolled students in the Master of Science in Computer Science are equi 9% of the total enrolled students to the 30 Italian universities which offer the same degree course.

Internationality is a strength of the Department of Information Engineering and Computer Science. Recruiting students from all over the world has been and continues to be a priority.

The number of non-Italian students enrolled is higher than in the rest of Italy, considering that the majority of students studying Computer Science course are not Italian.
